    The Massachusetts Department of Family and Medical Leave (DFML) has released template notices employers may use to fulfill the notice requirement to employees and 1099-MISC independent contractors under the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Act (PFMLA), G.L. c. 175M. Employers must provide a notice to their current workforce by May 31, 2019.

    It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Robert Cataldo, President of Cataldo Ambulance Service. Robert was a leader for decades, and inspired thousands of mobile healthcare professionals. Our thoughts are with the Cataldo family and staff.

    Beginning on April 1st, 2019 MassDOT will begin a two-year rehabilitation project of the Tobin Bridge and Chelsea Viaduct which together carry Route 1 through Chelsea, over the Mystic River, and into Boston.  This project, known as the Tobin Bridge/Chelsea Curves Rehabilitation will, ensure that the elevated portions of Route 1 which have not been significantly rehabilitated since the 1970’s can continue to safely and efficiently carry passenger and freight traffic in and out of Boston.

    Today the Massachusetts Ambulance Association Board unanimously appointed Dennis Cataldo of Cataldo Ambulance to the vacant seat on the board of directors. He was subsequently elected by the board to the position of Vice President.

    Congratulations, Dennis, and thank you for your service to the MAA!

    Our hearts are with the family, friends, and Cataldo Ambulance Servicecolleagues of Sean T. Maney. Sean, an EMT, field training officer, and 2018 American Ambulance Association #StarsofLife honoree, passed away in a boating accident on August 20. Rest in peace, brother.

    Wake will be Sunday 8/26 from 3pm- 6pm at Conway, Cahill, Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, MA

    Cataldo will be gathering in the parking lot of the funeral home at 2:30 and doing a walk-through for field staff at 3pm sharp.
